Halo Energy Sword 1:1 Replica / Prop by WispyChipmunk Halo Energy Sword 1:1 Replica / Prop by WispyChipmunk
30+ hours and it's finally done! :O

Been working on this the past two weeks or so. It started out as a papercraft model, then I filled the inside with spray foam, coated the entire thing in resin, and then put a final coat of auto body filler on top of that. That was sanded down nice and smooth, painted, and finished with a slightly glossy sealer for protection.

It's extremely lightweight and durable, so it's perfect for a cosplay prop as well as a collector's item or decoration.

I'm pretty proud of how it came out, especially considering I've never done something like this before...and it's definitely not my last, I already have my next project planned. :P

I'm selling it on Etsy if anyone's interested in it. Check it out! :D

Holy crap... You never really get the proper feel for who/what's holding these swords most of the time until you see a 1:1 model held by an average human. Then you realize that these weapons are usually held by 8-foot tall warrior-aliens and super-soldiers.

Haha, the Etsy link is actually down because it was bought. I sold it for $300, I think...I'd offer to make you another one, but I just don't have the time or desire to put another 30+ hours of work into a new one! Sorry! :XD:

Thank you so much for your interest, though! I'm glad you like it! :D

Ah, Damn it...I am a foam prop maker but am too lazy to put time into it right now (similar to your situation). Thank you for inspiring me though =), I'll make one which looks very similar (hopefully).
Thanks again for inspiration though. =)
